Causes of Seizures

Metabolic disorders: Epilepsy can result from various metabolic disorders, including:

- High fever
- Liver failure
- Kidney failure
Infections: Seizures can be caused by infections such as meningitis, encephalitis, and abscesses.
Stroke: A stroke can damage the brain and lead to seizures.
Trauma: Head trauma, such as a concussion, can cause seizures.
Substance abuse: Some drugs and alcohol can trigger seizures, especially in people prone to them.
Other medical conditions: Certain conditions can increase your risk of developing seizures, including sleep deprivation, stress, and hormonal changes.
Idiopathic epilepsy: This is the most common type of epilepsy, and the cause is unknown.
