Neck exercises can help release stress and reduce headaches. According to "The Wall Street Journal," if you stare at a computer all day, simple neck and shoulder exercises can alleviate some of the discomfort. Be careful when stretching the shoulder and neck muscles. It is better to slowly work through exercises to prevent strain.
Instructions
Close your eyes. Relax your face muscles and make sure your shoulders are down.
Gently and slowly, let your head fall forward and back. Repeat four times.
Turn your head to the left and back to center. Repeat four times.
Turn your head to the right and back to center. Repeat four times.
Bend your head right as if you want your ear to touch your shoulder. Bring back to center. Repeat four times.
Bend your head left as if you want your ear to touch your shoulder. Bring back to center. Repeat four times.
Lean your head toward your right ear again. Then roll your chin down and across your chest to your left shoulder. Roll your chin back to your right shoulder. Repeat four times.
