What is the best way to open airway of an unresponsive victim with no suspect neck injury?
Head-tilt/chin-lift maneuver
1. Kneel beside the person's head or stand slightly above the head so that you are able to see the chest and face well.
2. Place one hand on the forehead and press down gently to tilt the head back, creating an airway.
3. Place your other hand under the chin and lift it up gently to lift the chin forward and open the airway further.
4. Tilt the head back further if necessary to elevate the chin off the chest and open the airway completely.
5. Look, listen, and feel for normal breathing for no more than 10 seconds.
