How to Monitor Eye Fatigue
Eye fatigue manifests when a person is constantly straining their vision. Gazing into a computer terminal or reading small text from a book for long periods of time can make eyes tired. Monitoring eye fatigue is a wise way to assess when your eyes need a break. Allowing your eyes to rest for a while typically solves the problem of fatigue.
Instructions
Pay attention to how easy it is to keep your eyes open. Continual squinting due to feelings of excessive pressure and/or hypersensitivity to light is a clear sign of fatigue.
Notice if your eyes require wiping or rubbing. Eyes that water or feel as if they are itchy or burning indicate that they are dry and exhausted.
Locate tension in your upper back, shoulders or neck. Identifying tension in these areas indicates excessive tightness caused by staring in the same direction for an extended period of time.
Visit an ophthalmologist if you notice deterioration in overall vision. See an eye doctor also if you experience blurred vision or suffer from perpetual headaches related to overuse of the eyes.
