What would happen if you lost tone in the masseter and temporalis muscle?
If tone were lost in the masseter and temporalis muscles, the lower jaw could drop down completely if it isn't supported which would impede talking, chewing, drinking, and possibly breathing by occluding (blocking) airway passage. Without muscle tone to hold up the jaw to a certain point, gravity alone would pull it all the way down.Muscle Strains - Related Articles
