Instructions
Make changes to your diet. Liver stones are formed because of cholesterol build-up in the liver. Eat more high-fiber foods such as fruits and vegetables. Avoid foods high in saturated fats such as cookies, donuts or cakes. Avoid fatty meats, opting for lean cuts instead. Eat more chicken, fish and turkey.
Take vitamin supplements. People low in vitamin E, C and calcium may run a higher risk of liver stones. Ask your doctor how many units of each vitamin to take.
See your doctor if stones become extremely painful, as you may have an underlying medical condition. Get X-rays or scans if your doctor requests them. X-ray images show liver stones and their locations. Your doctor may prescribe medication to dissolve stones and for pain management.
