Treating heat exhaustion caused by overexertion can quickly undo symptoms such as excessive sweating, clammy skin, dizziness, nausea and body weakness. Heat exhaustion is common during the summer months when spending time outdoors. Low fluid levels in the body contribute to heat exhaust, but fortunately, there are techniques to reduce your body temperature fast and calm symptoms.Things You'll Need

Instructions
Locate a shaded area to rest. Stop all activity and find a shaded spot under a tree, porch or outdoor umbrella. If possible, go indoors and rest in the cool air to help bring down your body temperature. The Mayo Clinic, recommends lying on your back with the legs raised in the air.
Peel off layers of clothes. Wearing too much or heavy layers of clothes can contribute to heat exhaust. Remove jackets, sweaters, socks, shoes and any other type of clothing to help reverse heat exhaust.
Lower body temperature with a shower. If possible, take a cool bath or shower to recover from heat exhaust and reverse profuse sweating or clammy skin.
Replace fluids in your body. Eat crushed ice or drink water/sports drinks to stop dehydration and replace fluids loss through sweating.
