How to Use a Braun Wheelchair Lift

Access issues are an everyday concern for a wheelchair user. A number of products exist to aid a wheelchair user to access areas they would normally be prevented from doing so. Wheelchair accessible vehicles require a lift to load the wheelchair with the user in it. Braun wheelchair lifts have a simple system to load a wheelchair at the touch of a button, with little physical effort needed.

  Open the vehicle doors fully.

  Turn on the lift by flipping the "On/Off" switch on the front of the lift. Ensure that the green "On" light is illuminated.

  Clear the area to allow the platform to fully unfold. Press and hold the switch on the remote to "Unfold." The platform will unfold out of the vehicle.

  Guide the wheelchair user onto the platform. Keep the wheelchair between the yellow boundaries on the lift. Engage the wheelchair brakes. Ask the passenger to hold the handrails if possible.

  Press and hold the "Down" button on the remote. Keep the button pressed until the lift has reached ground level. Unload the passenger. To load a passenger, perform this process in reverse, using the "Up" and "Fold" buttons to load the passenger and then fold the lift up for transit.
