Safe Contact Lens Disposal: A Guide to Cutting with a Die
Slicing up your old contact lenses prior to disposal can be a safe way to prevent you from accidentally deciding to use them again. While a standard knife or your fingers would work, using a single die to cut up your contact lenses can provide an eccentric distraction from the mundane.Things You'll Need
- Sharp knife such as an Xacto blade
- Die
Instructions
Hold the die in your hands or in a clamp of some type so that one of the edges is pointed up.
Use the knife to whittle away at the edge until it is razor sharp.
Press down on the contact lens with the sharpened edge of the die and slice downward to cut the lens. Repeat the process if the lens is particularly stubborn or insistent on remaining intact.
