Esophageal Atresia: Symptoms, Signs & What to Watch For
Symptoms of esophageal atresia may include:
- Difficulty breathing or gasping for air
- A bluish color around the mouth, lips, and fingertips
- Inability to swallow, regurgitation, or excessive drooling
- Swelling or fluid accumulation in the neck
- Difficulty passing any stool
- A history of polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid in the womb)
- In severe cases, failure to thrive and other health complications
