How to Get Rid of Retained Water Fast
When your body retains water, it is a natural process responding to what you're eating and drinking and to your exercise habits. Getting rid of retained water is a battle for some people, especially women. If women want to fit into a smaller outfit, shedding the water weight is imperative. The more steps you take, the faster you will be able to get rid of the retained water in your body.
Instructions
Drink plenty of water. This might sound counter intuitive, but water helps get rid of the other substances that are causing the water retention.
Stop drinking alcohol, soda and other carbonated beverages; they add to water retention.
Reduce the amount of salt in your diet. Salt is a major contributor to your body retaining water. Processed food items, particularly meats, fast food and microwavable meals, all have very high salt contents.
Add fruits and vegetables to your diet to replace processed foods. A diet rich in natural, whole foods will reduce water retention fast.
Exercise every day. Make sure you work up a sweat when you exercise. This gets rid of the excess water and the salt that can contribute to it.
