Bactroban for Sinus Infections: A Simple Guide
Bactroban, otherwise known by its generic name of mupirocin, is a fairly strong topical antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. When prescribed for a sinus infection, the makers have made application of Bactroban quite easy. They've packaged it into "single-use" tubes that you'll use once a day and then chuck in the garbage.Things You'll Need
- Bactroban
Instructions
Squeeze half of the "single-use" tube of Bactroban into one of your nostrils.
Empty the remaining contents into the other nostril.
Pinch your nostrils together. This will ensure that the medicated solution is evenly applied to the membranes of your nose. Continue to pinch and massage the nose for around 60 seconds.
Use the solution in the "single-use" tubes in each nostril once each day (unless otherwise specified by your doctor). Typically, you'll only need to use Bactroban for less than a week to clear up the infection.
