Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE): Mortality Rate, Symptoms & Risk Factors
Eastern equine encephalitis virus (EEEV) is a rare but serious mosquito-borne disease that can cause inflammation of the brain (encephalitis). The overall case-fatality rate for EEEV infection is about 34%, meaning that about 3 out of every 10 people who get the disease die from it. However, the risk of death varies depending on the person's age and health status. For example, the case-fatality rate is highest in young children and the elderly, and it is also higher in people with weakened immune systems.Lupus - Related Articles
