Nephrotic Syndrome vs. Pyelonephritis: Understanding Protein Loss and Kidney Infections

The loss of excessive amounts of protein resulting in systemic edema is called nephrotic syndrome and is not pyelonephritis. Pyelonephritis is a bacterial infection of the kidney and is not caused by protein loss.
