Early Kidney Cancer Symptoms: What to Watch For
Kidney cancer often doesn't cause any noticeable symptoms in its early stages. As the tumor grows, possible signs and symptoms may include:
- Blood in your urine (hematuria). This is often the first sign of kidney cancer. The blood may be visible or it may be detected only through a urine test.
- Pain in your side or back, between your ribs and hips.
- A mass or lump in your abdomen or side.
- Weight loss.
- Fatigue.
- Fever.
- High blood pressure (hypertension).
- Anemia.
- Swollen legs or ankles.
- Increased thirst.
- Frequent urination.
