What are the symptoms of erythema nodosum?
Erythema nodosum is a skin condition that causes red, tender bumps to appear on the legs. These bumps can range in size from a pea to a golf ball. They are usually painful and may be accompanied by fever, chills, and joint pain. Other symptoms of erythema nodosum include:
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Loss of appetite
- Skin rash
- Hives
- Swollen lymph nodes
In some cases, erythema nodosum can also lead to more serious complications, such as:
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Pulmonary embolism (PE)
- Kidney failure
- Liver damage
- Heart problems
