Are biliary dyskinesia symptoms like gallstone symptoms?
The symptoms of biliary dyskinesia and gallstones can be similar, but they are not the same condition.
Biliary dyskinesia is a condition in which the gallbladder does not contract properly, which can cause pain and other symptoms. The most common symptom of biliary dyskinesia is pain in the upper right abdomen, which can be intermittent or constant. Other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, and indigestion.
Gallstones are hard, crystallized deposits of cholesterol, bile pigments, and other substances that can form in the gallbladder. Gallstones can cause pain and other symptoms when they block the flow of bile from the gallbladder to the small intestine. The most common symptom of gallstones is pain in the upper right abdomen, which can be intermittent or constant. Other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, bloating, gas, and indigestion.
In some cases, biliary dyskinesia and gallstones can occur together. However, it is important to note that biliary dyskinesia is not the same condition as gallstones. If you are experiencing pain or other symptoms in the upper right abdomen, it is important to see a doctor to determine the cause of your symptoms and get the appropriate treatment.
