Natural Approaches to Managing Crohn's Disease: A Holistic Guide
Crohn's disease is an intestinal inflammatory disease that needs to be monitored and controlled very carefully. Medication and other scientific treatments are not the best option for every Crohn's patient, so natural treatments may be beneficial to some. There are many different facets of your life, though, that need to be evaluated in order to get your Crohn's symptoms under control.
Instructions
The plan
Evaluate your diet. Eliminate foods that are difficult to digest such as nuts, whole grains, raw fruits and vegetables, and foods high in fat and sugar.
Decrease the stress in your life. It has been shown that increased stress can trigger Crohn's symptoms and bring on an attack. Try various ways to reduce stress such as massage therapy, yoga, or tai chi.
Cut out habits that could put your health at risk. Alcohol, cigarettes, and junk food are obstacles to improving your health and reducing Crohn's symptoms.
Drink plenty of liquids. Water is the best beverage you can drink to help relieve Crohn's symptoms. Liquids help with hydration and improve stool motility which is crucial to a Crohn's patient.
Stay active. The worst thing you can do during a Crohn's flare-up is to be immobile. Even a little activity each day will help combat Crohn's disease.
