Gastroenteritis: Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment
Gastroenteritis, commonly known as the stomach flu or intestinal flu, is an inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract that can involve vomiting, diarrhoea, or both, as well as a range of other symptoms. It is often caused by viral infections but can also be caused by bacterial infections, food poisoning, or non-infectious factors.
Symptoms typically last for a few days but can sometimes last for longer. Mild cases can often be managed at home by staying hydrated and resting, but severe cases may require medical attention.
