After a colonoscopy, you usually have a bowel movement within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes, it may take up to 72 hours. Your bowel movements may be loose or watery at first, but they should return to normal within a few days. If you don't have a bowel movement within 3 days after your colonoscopy, you should contact your doctor.
