Clomiphene (Clomid/Serophene): Uses, Side Effects & Information
Clomiphene, also sold under the names Clomid and Serophene, is a drug used to treat infertility issues in women and men. For women, it regulates or induces ovulation by changing the hormonal balance in a woman's body, thus increasing the chances that she will become pregnant. Men who have hormonal imbalances related to low sperm count or poor sperm quality can also take the drug, although its efficacy in men has not been proved.
Instructions
Make an appointment to discuss fertility concerns with your doctor. Clomiphene must be prescribed by a physician.
Ask your doctor to conduct the appropriate tests to determine whether you're ovulating on a regular basis, if you're a woman, or to test your sperm quality and count, if you're a man.
Ask your doctor to prescribe Clomiphene to treat your infertility problems. Discuss the pros and cons of the drug, possible side effects, and any contraindications or drug interactions, if you take other medications.
