Spermatogenesis: Understanding Spermatid Production & the Sperm Development Process
Spermatogenesis is the process by which haploid spermatozoa (sperm cells) are produced from diploid spermatogonia in the testes. It involves several stages, including mitosis, meiosis, and spermiogenesis.
During spermatogenesis, each primary spermatocyte undergoes meiosis to produce four haploid spermatids. These spermatids then undergo spermiogenesis, a process of cellular differentiation and maturation, to transform into spermatozoa. Therefore, each primary spermatocyte gives rise to four spermatids
