How many hospital-acquired infections are considered preventable?

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), around 5% of patients in developed countries and 10% of patients in developing countries acquire at least one healthcare-associated infection (HAI) during their hospital stay. It is estimated that about half of these infections could be prevented through effective infection prevention and control measures.
