How do you cure spleenomegaly?
The treatment of spleenomegaly depends on the underlying cause. In some cases, no treatment is necessary if the spleenomegaly is mild and does not cause any symptoms.
1) In cases where the spleenomegaly is caused by an infection, such as malaria or mononucleosis, the treatment will focus on treating the infection.
2) If the spleenomegaly is caused by cirrhosis or another liver disease, treatment will focus on managing the liver disease.
3) In cases of leukemia or lymphoma, chemotherapy or radiation therapy may be necessary.
4) Surgery to remove the spleen (splenectomy) may be necessary in some cases, such as when the spleen is severely enlarged or causing complications, such as pain or bleeding.
