Shingles Vaccine: Can You Get Shingles From It?

Shingles cannot be transmitted from a vaccination. The vaccine used to prevent shingles is a weakened form of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes chickenpox, and cannot spread to others through contact with the vaccinated person.
