Cough, Fever & Rash in 9-Month-Old: Home Care & When to See a Doctor
Cough and fever:
- Fever reducing medicine such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen
- Lots of fluids
- Honey (for children over 1 year old; helps soothe coughs
- Rest
Rash:
- Calamine lotion
- Oatmeal bath
- Hydrocortisone cream
See a doctor immediately in the following events:
- Difficulty breathing
- Fever of 104 degrees or more
- Rash that spreads quickly.
- Signs of dehydration including: no tears during crying, lethargy, fewer wet diapers than usual.
