B Cell Activation: Plasma Cells & Memory Cells - Understanding Immune Response

When an antigen triggers the multiplication of B lymphocytes, some daughter cells transform into antibody-producing plasma cells and mount an attack against the antigen. Other daughter cells differentiate into memory B cells, which provide long-term immunity against the same antigen.
