What is A blood antigen?
An A blood antigen is a protein found on the surface of red blood cells in individuals with A-positive or A-negative blood types. It is a carbohydrate molecule attached to a protein backbone and is responsible for the agglutination of red blood cells when exposed to anti-A antibodies. The presence of A antigen is determined by the A gene, which is dominant over the O gene.Immune System Disorders - Related Articles
