Types of Common Side Effects

Common side effects of Testim include irritation or redness at the application site, prostate enlargement, changes in blood pressure, feminine swelling of breast tissue, headaches, hot flashes, insomnia, excessive tear production, mood swings, changes in taste or smells and spontaneous erections.
Drug Interactions

Taking corticosteroid medications with Testim has the potential to cause edema, or swelling.
Risks

Use of Testim over a period of several months poses a risk for inflammation or damage to your liver. Some patients develop sleep apnea while using Testim.
Considerations

Testim is not safe for use in children under the age of 18 and used with caution in men over the age of 65. If you have a history of edema, congestive heart failure or liver disease, you may not be able to take Testim due to its side effects.
