* Casual contact. You cannot get HIV from shaking someone's hand, hugging them, or sharing a bathroom.* Saliva. You cannot get HIV from kissing someone or sharing a drink.
* Sweat. You cannot get HIV from sweating on someone or being in close contact with someone who is sweating.
* Tears. You cannot get HIV from crying or being in contact with someone's tears.
* Feces. You cannot get HIV from coming into contact with someone's feces.
* Urine. You cannot get HIV from coming into contact with someone's urine.
* Blood. You can only get HIV from coming into contact with infected blood. This can happen through:
* Sharing needles or other drug paraphernalia
* Having unprotected sex with someone who is infected with HIV
* Getting a blood transfusion from an infected person
* Getting a needle stick injury from an infected person
