The estimated adult (aged 15-49) HIV prevalence rate in the Dominican Republic is 0.8%, according to the 2017 UNAIDS Global AIDS Update.

Since 2010, new HIV infections have declined by 56%.
The rate of new infections is highest among men who have sex with men (MSM), at 16.5%, followed by people who inject drugs (PWID), at 8.7%.
