Preventing High Blood Pressure: Simple Steps for a Healthier You
Many people in the United States have high blood pressure. Lots of different factors can play a role, such as stress or genetics. You might avoid high blood pressure and its complications by following a few simple guidelines.Things You'll Need
- Place to exercise
- Exercise equipment (optional)
- Recipes (preferably healthful ones)
- Grocery store
Instructions
Find time to exercise for at least 30 minutes five times a week. The exercise doesn't have to be anything terribly strenuous---a simple brisk walk around the block will suffice for beginners.
Use indoor equipment if you can't exercise outside. A 5-lb. bag of flour will do as a dumbbell, and you can do squats using the back of a chair to maintain balance. Jumping jacks and running in place will give you the cardio workout you need to stay healthy.
Look through cookbooks (as well as on the Internet) to find recipes that are low in salt and fat. Make a list of ingredients.
Bring the list of ingredients with you when you go to the grocery store. Be sure to include a bottle of red wine in your shopping cart.
Put all of the elements together. Exercise at the best time of day for you, and cook the healthful meals you researched. Add a glass of wine.
