Circumcision Age: When is it Appropriate? | Medical Information
In the United States, the most common age for circumcision is shortly after birth. However, circumcision can be performed at any age. There is no upper age limit for circumcision.
For older boys and men, circumcision is typically performed for medical reasons, such as to treat phimosis (a condition in which the foreskin is too tight and cannot be pulled back over the head of the penis) or to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
If you are considering circumcision, it is important to talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of the procedure.
