Is only a few drops of blood considered period after having days thick brown and light pink discharge?
Spotting (bleeding between periods) is most often a harmless part of your menstrual cycle. It does not mean you are pregnant unless it is followed by a full period.
Spotting a few days before your period should not be a problem. However, spotting for more than a few days or between cycles is not normal.
If you have been experiencing spotting for several months, it is advisable to see your doctor. They may want to perform tests to determine the underlying cause of the spotting, such as abnormalities in your hormonal balance, sexually transmitted infections, polyps or fibroids (non-cancerous tumors), and thyroid problems.
