DIY Balanced Electrolyte Drink: Replenish Minerals Naturally
Electrolytes are electrically charged minerals in the body, including calcium, potassium, sodium, chloride and magnesium. These minerals transport electrical impulses from the nerves to other tissues in the body and are vital to proper physiological function. Hormones and the kidneys control electrolyte levels in the body. Electrolytes leave the body through fluid loss. Excessive fluid loss through illness or sweat can leave the body depleted of these important minerals. Many different brands of mineral-enhanced drinks are available on the market, however you can follow several steps to make your own electrolyte- balanced drink at home.Things You'll Need
