When to see a doctorSee your doctor if:
* You sweat so much that it soaks through your clothes or bedding.
* Your sweat has a foul odor.
* Your sweating interferes with your daily activities or social life.
* You have a fever, chills, or joint pain along with sweating.
* You're taking medication and are not sure if it's causing your sweating.
* You've tried home treatment for excessive sweating and it hasn't helped.
Seek immediate medical attention if:
* You have uncontrollable sweating, fever, and seizures. This may be a sign of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a rare but serious side effect of certain psychiatric medications.
* You suddenly start sweating profusely, especially on one side of your body or face. This may be a sign of a heart attack or stroke.
