Finasteride for BPH: Treatment Duration & What to Expect

Finasteride is typically used for the long-term treatment of BPH. The usual starting dose is 5mg once daily, and the effects of treatment may take several months to become apparent. Treatment is usually continued for at least 6 months, and may be continued for as long as the symptoms are controlled.
