- Apple cider vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Lemon juice
- Plain yogurt
Instructions
Yeast infections are typically treated with over-the-counter or prescription medications such as antifungal creams but there are several other ways to treat yeast infections naturally. One of the most common methods is with a vinegar douche. Mix 1 teaspoon of vinegar in 1 quart of warm water and use as a douche to restore the natural balance of the vagina.
Hydrogen peroxide can also be used to make a douche to treat yeast infections. Add 2 capfuls of hydrogen peroxide to a quart of warm water. An alternative to this method is to add a couple of capfuls of hydrogen peroxide to your bath water and soak. It is important to keep in mind that the vagina is self-cleansing. Once the yeast infection has cleared up it is not necessary to douche on a regular basis.
Lemon juice can help restore the acidic levels in the vagina. Add a teaspoon or two of lemon juice to your bath water and soak in the bathtub.
Use yogurt to win the battle against yeast infections. Yogurt contains healthy bacteria that can be beneficial in fighting infection. Dip a tampon in plain yogurt and insert into the vagina. Replace 2 to 3 times daily. An alternative to using a tampon is to place the yogurt on a pad and wear, changing as needed.
