Trifocals Adjustment Guide: Tips for a Smooth Transition
If you've never had trifocals before, they can take a while to get used to. These types of glasses have three separate prescriptions on one lens. Each section is for viewing items at a different distance. The need to look through different areas of the glass during different situations can be confusing. Luckily, there are some ways that you can make this transition easier.
Instructions
Adjust your computer's monitor height so that you don't have to move your head to look at the screen. This will keep you from inadvertently peering through the different sections of your trifocals, which can be disorientating.
Move your head to look directly at objects instead of moving just your eyes. This will prevent dizziness that may occur.
Practice looking through your glasses at objects that are different distances from your eyes. Look out of the top of the lens to see things that are far away. Focus your eyes on objects that are somewhat close while looking through the middle part of your trifocal lens. Look at reading materials or your computer screen through the bottom third of your glasses' lenses.
