Eyeball defect refers to any abnormality in the structure or shape of the eyeball(s).

Common types of eyeball defects that the cornea and lens in front of the pupils and irises (which give eyes their colour). When these transparent front layers are misshapen or scratched, vision can become distorted: the condition known as *astigmatism*, which may be from birth or cause by accident, infection, or disease during a lifetime.
