Perfume in Eyes: First Aid & When to See a Doctor
If someone gets perfume in their eyes, take the following steps:
* Flush the eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold the person's eyelids open and gently pour water over the eyes.
* Do not rub the eyes. Rubbing the eyes can spread the perfume and make the irritation worse.
* Apply a cold compress to the eyes. A cold compress can help to reduce swelling and pain.
* If the irritation persists, see a doctor. If the person is experiencing severe pain, swelling, or vision changes, they should see a doctor immediately.
Here are some additional tips for preventing perfume from getting in the eyes:
* Be careful when applying perfume. Avoid spraying perfume directly towards the face.
* Store perfume in a safe place. Keep perfume out of reach of children and pets.
* If perfume does get in the eyes, flush them with water immediately.
