Owl Vision: How Far Can These Nocturnal Hunters See?
The answer is: several miles
Owls have excellent eyesight and can see several miles away. Their eyes are specially adapted for night vision, allowing them to hunt in the dark. They have a large number of rods in their retinas, which are sensitive to low levels of light, and a reflective layer behind the retina called the tapetum lucidum, which helps to amplify light. Owls also have a wide field of view and can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees, giving them a greater range of vision than humans.
