Swollen Eye Relief: Causes, Home Remedies & When to See a Doctor
How to cure a swollen eye?
Rest
Rest your eyes and avoid any strenuous activities.
Cold compress
Apply a cold compress to the affected eye for 10-15 minutes several times a day. This will help to reduce swelling and inflammation.
Warm compress
If you have a stye, apply a warm compress to the affected eye for 10-15 minutes several times a day. This will help to bring the stye to a head and speed up the healing process.
Artificial tears
Use artificial tears to lubricate your eyes and help to relieve dryness.
Antihistamines
If your swollen eye is caused by an allergy, you may want to take an oral antihistamine to help reduce the swelling.
See a doctor
If your swollen eye does not improve within a few days, or if it is accompanied by pain, vision changes, or other symptoms, you should see a doctor.
