Contact Lens Storage: Best Practices for Lens Care
To care for contact lenses, you should store them so they don't dry out and avoid damage. Here are tips for properly storing your contact lenses.Things You'll Need
- 1 set contact lenses
- Lint-free towel
- Clean water
- Contact cleaning/wetting solution
- Storage case
Instructions
Wash your hands well and dry them completely on a lint free towel.
Begin with the lens in your right eye. Remove the lens and clean it as per the instructions provided.
Rinse the clean lens with water and place in the storage case cell marked "R" that was provided with the lenses.
Add some of the cleaning/wetting solution to the cell holding the lens. Close the lid. Carefully close the cells making sure that the edge of the lens is not on the lip of the well. If the lid of the cell is closed on the lens, it may cut or otherwise damage the lens.
Repeat steps 2 to 5 for the left lens, storing this lens in the "L" cell.
