Effective Ways to Reduce Under-Eye Puffiness & Bags
There can be many reasons why a person could develop under-eye puffiness, including genetics, allergies, make-up and diet. There are several steps that may relieve this condition--no matter what the cause.-
Sleep
-
Getting a full-night's rest can lessen under-eye puffiness. Sleeping with the head elevated with as many pillows as comfortable can also prevent fluid from collecting around the eyes.
Cool Compress
-
Applying cool compresses or ice packs to the eyes can help; there are also pre-made products that are placed in the freezer and then used for decreasing puffy eyes.
Allergy Management
-
Since allergies can cause puffy eyes, managing allergy symptoms can improve puffiness and avoiding allergens and/or treating allergy symptoms should be considered.
Hydration
-
Stay hydrated with water. Avoid drinks or sodas with caffeine or artificial sweeteners because these types of drinks can contribute to eye puffiness.
Avoidance of UV Rays
-
Wear UV-blocking sunglasses and use sunblock when going outside to protect the skin around the eyes.
