How to Pop Your Ears After a Plane Ride
When you are inside a moving airplane, you might notice that the air pressure changes. To adjust, the Eustachian tube opens up wide, causing a strange sensation inside the ears. Sometimes the tube will stay open even after the flight has ended. You can do things to pop your ears so they stop feeling clogged up.Things You'll Need
- Gum
- Nasal decongestant
Instructions
Pinch your nostrils together so they close.
Take a breath into your mouth, and purse your lips together.
Try to push the air out, but don't allow your mouth or nose to open.
Chew a stick of gum so you are constantly swallowing. The swallowing action helps to open your ears.
Spray a nasal decongestant into your nose as a final remedy.
