Understanding the Weber Hearing Test: Procedure & Interpretation
Weber test:- Place a vibrating tuning fork in the center of the forehead.
- Ask the patient in which ear the sound is louder/lateralized.
- Interpretation:
- Lateralization to one side suggests a sensorineural hearing loss in the opposite ear.
- If the sound is equally loud in both ears, it suggests conductive hearing loss or normal hearing.
