Lexapro and Fibromyalgia: Understanding the Connection

Lexapro is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that restores the balance of natural chemicals in the brain. It is often used to treat fibromyalgia pain because of the role it plays in adjusting serotonin levels.

Fibromyalgia

However, because of the pain management function of serotonin, Lexapro may also be approved to treat fibromyalgia pain.
