PID and Men: Understanding the Connection & Risks
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is an infection of the female reproductive organs. It is usually caused by sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia or gonorrhea. PID can cause a variety of symptoms, including pelvic pain, fever, and abnormal vaginal discharge.
Males cannot get PID because they do not have the same reproductive organs as females. However, males can get STIs that can cause PID in females. Therefore, it is important for both males and females to practice safe sex in order to prevent the spread of these infections.
