How to Apply for a Disability Badge
For the disabled people in the United Kingdom, going to the store, doctor's office or place of worship can be a painful and arduous experience without a disability badge. Having a badge enables you to park near the entrance to a building. According to DirectGov, a public service website, some disabled people may automatically qualify for a badge, but most will need to go through an assessment to determine if their mobility is impaired enough to receive a disability badge.
Instructions
Call your Local Service Center to see if an application can be sent to you or if you need to pick one up.
Gather a current copy of your Disability Allowance letter; two small passport photos; 2 pounds for administrative costs; details about your car, such as the make, model and registration number; proof of address; and identification.
Fill out the application and return it to your Local Service Center. Bring along your documentation.
Answer all medical questions as honestly as you can. Your local council may require more information from your physician to determine if your impairment qualifies you for a disability badge.
